SURFACE CONDITIONING ROUGHNESS FACTOR FOR IN PROCESSING TECHNOLOGICAL ELECTRICAL EROSION

EDM phenomenon consists in the deployment of material from the work piece and electrode electrically conductive at a distance from one another and between which there is an electric potential difference. Suppose two objects (parts) initially at distance D and the electric potential difference, beg...

Suppose two objects (parts) initially at distance D and the electric potential difference, begin to be close to each other. Distance that will pierce the dielectric (the environment in which the two objects are - air, water, oil) and will begin to show electric discharge between the two parts is called the interstitium. Following electrical arcing, a certain quantity of material dislodged from the two pieces. If there is no intervention on their arc will continue until the distance between the two parts will increase (due to displacement of material). The amount of material displaced by erosion of the electrode and the piece is asymmetric and depends heavily on certain parameters like: polarity, thermal conductivity, melting point of the material that makes up the piece and electrode characteristics and current applied between the electrode track. http://www.utgjiu.ro/rev_mec/mecanica/pdf/2014-2/2_Ioan%20BADIU,%20Marcel%20S.POPA%20-%20SURFACE%20CONDITIONING%20ROUGHNESS%20FACTOR%20FOR%20IN%20PROCESSING%20TECHNOLOGICAL%20ELECTRICAL%20EROSION.pdfelectrical erosion phenomenondielectricconductor of electricity.
