Fiber yang sering digunakan di kedokteran gigi adalah E-glass fiber.Kekurangan dari E-glass fiber dental adalah modulus tensile rendah, self abrasive, ketahanan fatique rendah dan harga relatif mahal. E glass fiber non dental dipilih sebagai alternatif karena kompisisinya hampir sama dengan E-glass fiber dental. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui perbedaan kekerasan antara fiber reinforced composite dengan E-glass fiber dental dan fiber reinforced composite dengan glass fiber non dental. Metode: Jenis penelitian eksperimental laboratorium. Nilai rata-rata kekerasan paling tinggi terdapat pada kelompok FRC dengan E-glass fiber dental (60,83VHN), kelompok dengan glass fiber non-dental (53,56 VHN), sedangkan pada kelompok tanpa fiber memiliki nilai kekerasan yang paling rendah (48,23 VHN). Analisa statistik menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil: Nilai kekerasan e glass fiber dental 60,83VHN, sedangkan e glass non dental 53,56 VHN. Nilai signifikasi yang diperoleh adalah p= 0,000, dimana p<0,05 artinya terdapat perbedaan kekerasan antara fiber reinforced composite dengan E-glass fiber dental dan Fiber reinforced composite dengan glass fiber non-dental.Simpulan:terdapat perbedaan kekerasan antara Fiber Reinforced Composite dengan E-glass fiber dental dan FRC dengan glass fiber non-dental dimana kekerasan FRC dengan E-glass fiber dental lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan FRC dengan glass fiber non-dental. The significance value obtained is p = 0,000, where p <0.05 means that there is a difference in violence between E-glass fiber reinforced composite dental fiber and Fiber reinforced composite with non-dental glass fiber. Conclusion: there is a hardness difference between Fiber Reinforced Composite and E-glass dental fiber and Fiber Reinforced Composite with non-dental glass fiber where the hardness of Fiber Reinforced Composite with E-glass dental fiber is higher compared to Fiber Reinforced Composite with non-dental glass fiber.
