Description
Summary:Civil philosophy occupies an evident place in the philosophical system of Hobbes. It comprises his reflection concerning dispositions and customs of men, that is, ethics, civil obligations, and politics. Nevertheless, civil philosophy constitutes only a part of the systematic elaboration of Hobbes’ philosophy, which contains, besides his political reflection, important points about physics and geometry. In this paper, we try to examine the manner Hobbes stations the different parts that compose his philosophical system, so that we can demonstrate the place that civil philosophy occupies in his philosophical undertaking.
