Summary:Art and discourse are much defined and, sometimes, distant approaches. This article looks for covering some fundamental notions in Discourse Analysis (the French one), compounding an analysis device and, from this theoretical basis, to ascertain relations with Art, specially, with painting. So, the study is concentrated on the establishment of senses (meanings) and on gestures of interpretation that arise when a title (linguistic-discursive materiality) is associated to a painting (imagetic materiality).
