Summary: | This essay aims to analyse three recent Italian poetry books (Alessandra Carnaroli’s Ex voto, 2017; Fabio Orecchini’s Figura, 2019; Andrea Inglese’s Ollivud, 2018) as case studies in order to show the application of several visual art practices to poetic texts, both on a thematic and stylistic level. The relation between contemporary Italian poetry and visual culture will be explored involving both some literary criticism theories and some fundamental assumptions related to Bildwissenschaft and visual culture studies.
