Description
Summary:The aim of this paper is to give a nuanced reading of the interactions between tourism and environment. Tourism is often accused of being a factor of landscape disturbance and having effects on the environment in tourist places. Like any human activity tourism is not neutral and can damage or transform the tourist areas, but it can also contribute to “patrimonialize” and enhance the environmental quality of the place. Moreover, the tourism stakeholders tend to integrate the defence of the environment in their development policies to enhance the attractiveness of the places or their activity.
