For this reason, many studies in the educational field have tried to examine the main characteristics of the effective teacher. They have searched for a more general dimension of efficacy, which can summarize effective teacher’s aspects that are common in different disciplines. With the knowledge of disciplinary contents, elements connected to teacher’s personal and professional dimensions have emerged. The aim of the present paper is to consider the main international research contributions on effective teacher and to suggest a summary model, which can offer a representation of the relationships between the different elements. L’insegnante efficace: definizione e caratteristiche nella ricerca educativa La figura del docente assume un ruolo rilevante nella promozione di un apprendimento significativo, come co-protagonista, insieme con lo studente, del processo educativo. Per questo motivo numerosi studi in ambito educativo hanno cercato di esaminare le caratteristiche dell’insegnante efficace. Si è cercato di delineare una dimensione di efficacia più generale, che riassuma aspetti comuni degli insegnanti considerati efficaci in varie discipline. Accanto alla conoscenza dei contenuti disciplinari, sono emersi elementi legati alla dimensione personale e a quella professionale del docente.
