Description
Summary:Objective: This study aimed to identify the importance of therapeutic workshops based on the user’s observation regarding their socialization with society and their families. In addition, another purpose was to recognize ways of approaching the users with the society and make them reflect about the benefits and harms identified by them. Methods: The study was conducted from a qualitative and descriptive research made from the data collection through semi-structured interviews, with random patients who participated or not in the therapeutic workshops offered by the unit, with a population composed of health clients attended at the Center for Psychosocial Care. Results: We interviewed 14 health clients attending the therapeutic workshops. According to the data analysis based on Bardin, three categories were presented: 1) CAPS: place of great friendships; 2) returning to life through therapeutic workshops; 3) empowering myself. Conclusion: The activity of developing, creating, expressing good and bad feelings goes beyond a therapy for the users; they see it as an opportunity for liberation. Free from idleness, feeling of uselessness, bad thoughts, drug overload, social isolation, and especially family isolation, they now find themselves trapped in a workshop that provides learning and teaching, respect for others, difference, patience, calmness, where they can exacerbate fear, shame and especially sadness.
