Description
Summary:In recent times we are experiencing a new phenomenon with no precedents, that is, the accelerated abandonment of religious beliefs and practices that had otherwise remained valid for centuries and inspired a culture considered hegemonic in great part of the world. In this article, Alejandro Llano traces the roots of this secularization process back to the Enlightenment. Llano maintains that the great paradox of modernity consists in its self-destructive capacity, which epicenter is precisely located in secularization. Against this secular radicalism, Llano argues for a democratic society that should opt for religious freedom.
