Maggot therapy is a method based on the use of myiasis fly larvae also called maggot which affinity necrotic tissue in wound treatment. The use and popularity of maggot therapy is increasing rapidly in many countries throughout the world. The advantages of maggot therapy which include its profound efficacy in debriding necrotic tissue, its safety and its simplicity, its low cost and its effectiveness even in the context of antibiotic-resistant infections.
