Summary:During 1931 and 1933, in magazine Sur created by Victoria Ocampo, took place a debate mostly about the considerations of the visitor philosopher Hermann Keyserling. We take the intervention of a young Jos&amp;eacute; Luis Romero with the purpose of apreciate in his reading the influence of an arielista americanism. He came from Rod&amp;oacute;, submited to he caver ap repercussion of Sa&amp;uacute;l Taborda and Deodoro Roca, all of them adherents to a vitalized &amp;ldquo;proto-existential&amp;rdquo; climate. They formulate the indigenism of being american as an original essence. Today this idea may be read as well as power or will.<br>Entre 1931 y 1933 la revista Sur, fundada por Victoria Ocampo, dio lugar a un debate sobre la condici&amp;oacute;n de lo americano que orbitaba en gran parte en torno a las consideraciones del fil&amp;oacute;sofo visitante Hermann Keyserling. Nosotros tomamos la intervenci&amp;oacute;n de un joven Jos&amp;eacute; Luis Romero con el prop&amp;oacute;sito de divisar en su lectura la influencia del americanismo arielista, procedente de Rod&amp;oacute;, sometido a la incidencia solapada de Sa&amp;uacute;l Taborda y de Deodoro Roca, todos ellos adherentes a un clima vitalista &amp;ldquo;proto-existencial&amp;rdquo;, desde donde formulan el autoctonismo del ser americano como una esencia originaria, que hoy leer&amp;iacute;amos m&amp;aacute;s bien como &amp;ldquo;potencia&amp;rdquo; o &amp;ldquo;voluntad&amp;rdquo;.
