Summary: | The increasing interest of scholars about sharing economy is accompanied by the uncertain boundaries and vagueness of this umbrella concept, confirmed by the absence of a really shared definition. Actually, the debate seem stuck in the polarization between the good and the bad sharing economy, represented by biggest and best known multinational companies like Uber or Airbnb. The role of the national-institutional context in the rise and success of the sharing economy seems less stressed by the academic debate, despite some empirical evidences demonstrate that not all the social environments are equally fertile. The paper aim is try to define a common definition and standard of assessment for all the scholars interested in analyzing these new form of entrepreneurship and economic exchange. |
