The author draws attention to the relevance of this topic in connection with the introduction of “game disorder” by the 72nd World Health Assembly in the 11th edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) and as a factor in influencing aggressiveness in adolescence. The purpose of this study is to understand the passion of computer games as a factor in influencing aggressiveness and as a result of dissatisfaction with the basic human needs of adolescent children. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign literature in the article, the concept of “gamer addiction” is presented by two radically opposite research groups and is considered as a part of computer and game addiction and the impact on the developing psyche and worldview of schoolchildren. The author interpreted the results of scientific studies, examined approaches to the interpretation of this term, and concluded that the passion for computer games, the problems associated with them, and the reason for adolescents to immerse themselves in the virtual world are related to their age characteristics. This article is addressed to high school teachers, organizers of extracurricular activities, parents, as well as all professionals and citizens interested in protecting the young generation from the negative impact and threats of computer games.https://repository.kvantor.org/public/9/180
