Summary:This paper presents a formulation and solution for the problem of transverse and longitudinal vibration of the portal frame with damping. The dissipation of vibration energy in the model is caused by simultaneous constructional, internal and external damping. The eigenvalues of the system for a selected and variable parameters were calculated. The effect of different type of damping on amplitude decay factor was presented.
