The etymological analysis suggests a relation to the Slavic dendronym *<em>grabъ</em> &amp; *<em>grabrъ</em> "hornbeam".</p>The Latin and German chronicles recorded his name together with the prefix <em>per</em> / <em>par</em> "for" that was part of the name of the festival dedicated to this god.
