Summary: | This article is aimed at sharing the experience of the history workshops we carried out in the Institutes for adolescents under the authority of the National Bureau for Juvenile Offenders of the Criminal Law, during the Argentinian Bicentennial 2010. As members of a group dedi-cated to public history, these workshops were a huge challenge, both because of the particular format we adopted, and for the context in which they were developed. The activity planning process and the results of this experience may cast light on the potential and limitations of public history in non–traditional teaching situations. At the same time, il allows for a parti-cular look at the Bicentennial celebrations from the margins of the nation. |
