Description
Summary:Love is a universal theme, addressed both in prose and in poetry. It is the first and the wider theme of the literature (SANTOS, 2008), and it can be romantic, idealistic, platonic or erotic love. In the narrative Dão-Lalalão: o devente (1994), by Guimarães Rosa, there is a strong presence of erotic love that is expressed through the senses of the characters. This article therefore addresses the way in which the five senses are used in the construction of eroticism in the characters and as they are fundamental elements in building of the plot. The work is supported by some theoretical ideas about eroticism (BRANCO, 1985), Eros as the impulse of life (SANTOS, 2008, EAGLETON, 1997), and indagations about love in prose of Guimarães Rosa (NUNES, 1994; LAGES, 2002).
