Summary:Hennie Aucamp has established himself as an avant garde short story-writer in Afrikaans and as such his work is experimental. In this article his shorter prose, more specifically the volume Volmink, is analysed from the point of view of ‘collage in literature’. A brief explication of the term collage and its occurrences in literature is given after which the use of collage in Volmink is discussed. The article concludes with a discussion of the function of collage in Aucamp’s shorter prose.
