The authors accentuate the leveling process of national identity as well as extending the process of multiculturalism that take place in almost all states. The article analyzes the issue of identity in the historical sense of its formation and development. The authors assume that in modern philosophical understanding, the world ceases to be coherent and logical system; an individual is not an abstract representative of its humankind, it is rooted in the tradition, the world and life circumstances. Identity becomes a problem, and "identified thinking" is a subject to criticism. En bloc, the issue of identity is relevant and diverse in terms of philosophical, psychological, and cultural tradition. It is emphasized, that the vast majority of people in the modern world does not belong to any ethnic group; they are members of one or more societies and the representatives of several cultures.
