Seven (07) pedagogical workshopswere held at a Municipal Health Center in the city of Curitiba – Parana State, Brazil. The workshops lasted about two hourswith the application of the steps of the problem-based method. These educational practices brought about social support, information and support to relieve stress and labor fear. It was concluded that the method is active, because it allowsthought expression as well as the expression of the group’s personal experiences, but it is also thought-provokingbecause the group needs to analyze, to judge, to bring up solutions and to use their mental capacities in order to talk aboutreality or solve problems and defend an idea; such situations occur in educational practice.http://dx.doi.org/10.5380/ce.v13i2.12433Health EducationProblem-based methodologyDelivery
