Summary: | This paper is the study on the case of the Jesuit Francisco Franco and his inquisitorial process, in the context of the political crisis of the Spanish Monarchy during the XVII century. During this period, there were numerous prophets and visionaries, and they used the medieval prophetical Works in the península, to announce the arrival of an "anointed King" who would save Spain. Pedro Isabal presented himself in Zaragoza as the anointed King with a message that contained a strong subversive political message. Father Franco was one of his most important supports and for this reason he was processed by the Inquisition. Franco's support to Isabal was based on his own aspirations to become the "pope angelicus" that should reform the church.
