Summary: | Urinary schistosomiasis is caused by the parasite Schistosoma haematobium and is endemic in the African and Asian countries, usually in areas with no proper sanitation. We present a case of a 12 year old boy seen in Ireland where these parasites are not endemic. An uncommon modality was used to confirm the condition and after being treated with Praziquantel the child made an excellent recovery. |
