A practical illustration is provided in the following four examples, in partnership with the Laboratoire d’Études et de Recherches sur les Matériaux (LERM) in Arles, represented by Frédérique Vouvé:– Number 17, rue Champollion in the 5th arrondissement of Paris belongs to a group of three buildings erected by Jacques Curabelle between 1667 and 1670 for the Sorbonne.– The Hôtel de Mayenne in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, modernized and embellished by Germain Boffrand, is the last of the most prestigious mansions in the Marais district still to be restored.– The Hôtel d’Hallwyl in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, rebuilt in 1766–8, is one of the many mansions whose interior was designed and decorated by Claude-Nicolas Ledoux.
