CHIRCO
For almost twenty years a large part of the theoretical work of Keynesian economists has been dedicated to the research of "theoretical justifications" for the propositions of non-neutrality and, more generally, for the interpretation of unemployment as a phenomenon related to disequilibrium. The present work discusses in particular the neo-Keynesian literature that has studied the rigidities of the price system and the resulting frictions in the adjustment towards neoclassical equilibrium. Rather than a systematic review, the work provides an illustration of the key ideas behind this line of research. Moreover, it provides an outline of some possible intellectual paths among the various "neo-Keynesian" responses to the neoclassical challenge of the 1970s. The author concludes by presenting some possible connections between the theoretical insights of the various analytical strands that are considered.

JEL Codes: E12

http://ojs.uniroma1.it/index.php/monetaecredito/article/view/10883Neo-Keneysian, neoclassical, price rigidities, equilibrium
