Description
Summary:The objective of this study was to analyze the level of the noise produced by the penxs of high rotation (Dabi Atlante - year 2000) in different conditions operation procedures. In 30 posterior natural teeth extracted had been selected, divided in three groups, with ten teeth each: group I (natural teeth for cavies preparations in class I), group II (teeth restored with amalgam) and group III (teeth restored with composed resin) for removal of the restorations, in class I, using cylindrical drills (556) small pieces. The measure of the noise level of the penxs of high rotation for each group was realized with a measuring device of analogical sound pressure level (decibelímetro mod. 886-2/890-2, cod. 00045, Simpson). The averages of each group had been: group I = 73.2 dB; group II = 73.8 dB; group III = 70.9 dB. The results had been submitted to the analysis of variance and to the test of Tukey showed to group III with levels of noise significant comparative smaller than the others groups of the 5% level of significance. After the obtainment of the results we can conclude that the penxs of high rotation presented in average noise below of 75 decibels. The removal of the composed resin was what they had presented smaller noise levels.
