Summary: | Materials of article highlight the specifics of young researchers training in higher education. Attention is focused on providing quality of doctoral programs in universities on the basis of collegial models of leadership. It is noted that the reforms of higher education in Ukraine based on the achievements of the Bologna process. Outlined the basic approaches and principles of providing quality of doctoral programs in the European educational and research spaces. Presents a brief overview of approaches` evolution to understanding the nature and content of leadership. Leadership occurs through leaders and followers interaction and is the result of interpersonal relationships, based on transparency and trust, influence and authority. In the framework of the training of young researchers at the Universities we can use collegial models of leadership, which include the theory of transformation, distributed, shared, values-based leadership and others. Collegial leadership models are based on changes in the culture of the organization, focusing on solidarity, respect, mutual trust in the team. It is emphasized that leadership creates a team culture in an institution of higher education on the basis of jointly produced vision and shared values. The article contains a number of requirements to a young researcher, graduate student supervisor and head of the doctoral program focused on team interaction, creating conditions to ensure the quality of doctoral training.
