Description
Summary:Motor vehicle accidents are among the main etiologic factors of maxillofacial injuries. Immediate and comprehensive treatment involving multiple disciplines is needed to successfully restore the damaged hard and soft tissues and reinstate the function and esthetics. This clinical report describes the oral rehabilitation of a young patient with mid-face and mandibular fractures and extensive loss of the dentoalveolar segments in the anterior mandible as a result of a road traffic accident. The patient underwent open reduction and rigid fixation of the fractures followed by implant placement and screw retained hybrid prosthesis fabrication for replacement of missing hard and soft tissues.
