| Summary: | Inspired by the compelling volume of Capello and Semi on Turin – Torino. Un profilo etnografico – this short intervention highlights three orientations to work toward a critical and radical form of urban ethnography. The first is an invitation at looking at the city as a vitalist mechanosphere, which requires paying attention at more-than-human agencies and urban affects, to better understand the assemblage of the urban political; the second has to do with an understanding of the margins not as site of relegation, but as site of resistance; and the third is a move to re-centre ethnographic writing as a quintessential form of urban politics. |
