| Summary: | The article substantiates the need for a regional legal system in a federal state. The content of the regulatory
part of the regional legal system of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania is disclosed and proposed. According to the author, it consists of the Constitution of the Republic, laws, other regulatory legal acts, generally recognized principles and norms of international law, international agreements of the North Ossetia-Alania, treaties
and agreements between state authorities of the North Ossetia-Alania and federal government bodies, public
authorities of the subjects Russian Federation, as well as Ossetian customs iron ægdauttæ.
The work reveals the social value of customs, including Ossetian, their importance in the regulation of social
relations. As a legal initiative, it is supposed to provide for a separate article in the Constitution of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania with the name “Legal System” and its content is formulated.
