Description
Summary:The aim of the present was to estimate the above-ground biomass and nutrient content of different components of Eucalyptus globulus subspecie maidenii trees. Data were collected in a four year old plantation on clay soil in the town of Butiá, Rio Grande do Sul. A regression equation (lnY = a + b* lnX), was used to estimate biomass production whose coefficients were calculated from data from nine trees sampled in different diametric classes. The total above-ground biomass was 83,2 Mg ha -1 where 13; 10; 9 and 68 % were spread in the leaves, branches, bark and wood, respectively. In the wood of the stem were found 29; 29; 40; 12,5 and 34% of above-ground biomass N, P, K, Ca and Mg, respectively. However, in the canopy of the trees these same elements have represented 64, 56, 48,5, 32 and 39%. The bark was the component which has accumulated the bigger amount of calcium, 55,3% of the total.
