The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of circular resistance training on serum level of IL-17 and immunoglobulins M, A, G in obese handicapped men. Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 22 disabled and obese men (age range, 25±5 years and BMI, 30±2.5kg/m2), were selected purposefully and divided into two groups of experimental (n=12) and control (n=10). The experimental group started a maximal repeat for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week (intensity, 60-65%), and with a gradual increase of 70-80%, they performed a maximal repeat in the final sessions. The control group did not participate in any sport program. Blood samples (for assessment of IL-17 and immunoglobulins levels), were collected before, immediately after one training session, and 8 weeks after training. Data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and analysis of variance tests at the significance level of α<0.05. Results: In this study, the levels of IL-17, IgM, IgA, IgG had no significant change immediately after one session and after 8 weeks of training (p˃0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of the current study, circular resistance exercises do not affect serum levels of IL-17 and immunoglobulins. http://journal.muq.ac.ir/browse.php?a_code=A-10-334-2&slc_lang=en&sid=1cytokine il-17 immunoglobulin resistance exercise handicapped |
