The Effect of Circular Resistance Training on Serum Level of IL-17 and Immunoglobulins M, A, G in Obese Handicapped Men

Background and Objectives: One of the important functions of the immune system is producing soluble or cellular components that protect the body against any threats. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of circular resistance training on serum level of IL-17 and immunoglobulins...

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of circular resistance training on serum level of IL-17 and immunoglobulins M, A, G in obese handicapped men. Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 22 disabled and obese men (age range, 25±5 years and BMI, 30±2.5kg/m2), were selected purposefully and divided into two groups of experimental (n=12) and control (n=10). The experimental group started a maximal repeat for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week (intensity, 60-65%), and with a gradual increase of 70-80%, they performed a maximal repeat in the final sessions. The control group did not participate in any sport program. Blood samples (for assessment of IL-17 and immunoglobulins levels), were collected before, immediately after one training session, and 8 weeks after training. Data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and analysis of variance tests at the significance level of α<0.05. Results: In this study, the levels of IL-17, IgM, IgA, IgG had no significant change immediately after one session and after 8 weeks of training (p˃0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of the current study, circular resistance exercises do not affect serum levels of IL-17 and immunoglobulins. http://journal.muq.ac.ir/browse.php?a_code=A-10-334-2&slc_lang=en&sid=1cytokine il-17 immunoglobulin resistance exercise handicapped
