Summary: | Based on the results of a survey carried out on Tunisian students returning to their country after having studied abroad, this text tries to specifically analyze the case ofthose who specialized in fundamental sciences. In spite of the devalorization of the statute of Tunisian scientists (scholars, researchers), these specializations continue to enjoy a certain prestige, in particular, within the higher middle class. On the basis of school representations prior to current neo-liberal orientations, graduates in science from abroad persist in conveying a form of scientistic ideal - expressed in an academic mode - which results, in particular, in a search for public employment. |
