Summary: | <i>Panstrongylus geniculatus</i> is one of the mostwidely distributed species of Triatominae in Southand Central America, occurring in several biomeswith different climatic characteristics. We presentthe results of captures of <i>P. geniculatus</i> providedfrom a 10-year program of entomologicalsurveillance in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil.We also present an updated geographicdistribution map of <i>P. geniculatus</i> obtained froman extensive literature review. The entomologicalsurveillance program, between 1996 and 2005,provided 110 capture registers of <i>P. geniculatus</i> inEspírito Santo. These are the first records of <i>P.geniculatus</i> from 15 municipalities in this state. <i>P.geniculatus</i> extends through 18 countries inCentral and South America, from southernMexico to northern Argentina.
