<p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US">The author analyzes and summarizes the theoretical approaches to the understanding of the problems of functioning of the modern information environment. In the article author gives his own definition of the term «local information space» and presents the information space structure and qualitative characteristics of its components.</p><p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US">The <span class="char-style-override-1">aim</span> of the article is research of the local information space structure and its components, influencing on the civil society formation.</p><p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US">The research contributes to the further development of the concept «local information space» and contributes understanding of knowledge about institutional cooperation between mass media and civil society.</p>
