| Summary: | Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore owned a big collection of flight and tail feathers of more than 180 bird species. This collection exists from 2000 and annually received many new specimens. Geography of this collection covered mainly Russian regions. In 2016, a first Russian Illustrated Feather Guide based on the museum’s collection was published (Korepova, 2016) and a Feather Research Laboratory was established. In 2018, digitization of the collection and creating of a website for online feather guide featherlab.ru29 was funded by the Russian President Foundation. |
