Although CNC technology has a good productivity, some factors have a negative influence on this characteristic, such as the setup time of these machines. Amongst the efforts devoted to reducing unproductive time during the preparation of the machine, it is possible to highlight the development of tools presetting systems, providing a reduction in the unproductive time. Thus, this paper presents the development of a system for measuring tools used in a CNC machining. Using image processing techniques, the previously mentioned system aims to measure the length of the tools that are housed on machine magazine. The results showed the advantages of the proposed system which compared to manual presetting, shows a reduction of 68% in the presetting time of five tools used.https://periodicos.ifpb.edu.br/index.php/principia/article/view/1031 |
