Summary:The paper addresses the relation between social and lawful behavior of the person as a generic andspecific element, revealing their general and distinctive signs. The author pays attention to the other not legal social regulators – moral and religious standards of behaviour. On the basis of the analysis of social and legal standards of behavior, the author concludes that the lawful behavior can have socially harmful character, and, on the contrary, the illegal behavior can be social useful.
