Summary:Euthyneura zaitsevi sp. n. (Diptera: Hybotidae) is described from the Caucasus (Russia: Krasnodar Province, Republic of Adygea). The new species can be distinguished from other representatives of the genus by the following combination of characters: postpedicel of antenna trapezoid; scutum shining; wing largely infuscate, with large darker subrectangular area around stigma; in male halter with black knob and paler stem, in female halter pale; in male legs black to blackish brown, in female legs almost entirely yellow. A key to the Palaearctic species of Euthyneura is provided
