Summary:A new species of Rheum is described from the Uzengu-Kuush River Basin (Inner Tien Shan, Kyrgyzstan), which grows at a relatively high elevation on stony rubble habitats. In its habit and morphological characters, this species resembles R. wittrockii Lundstr. and R. sublanceolatum C.Y.Cheng & T.S.Kao but differs from the first with basal leaves sublanceolate and from last one with inflorescence more branched and dense.
