Summary:Objective: To review the literature on the influence of physical training on dyspnea, functional capacity and quality of life of patients with COPD. Methods: We conducted literature in Scielo databases, Lilacs and Google Scholar using the terms: COPD, quality of life, physical training, dyspnoea and functional capacity. Three books available at the College of Higher Education Catalão were also used Discussion: Scientific evidence found in the survey showed that among different therapeutic modalities for patients with COPD, exercise is a behavior that has been proven effective in treating these individuals, since it generates several benefits that result in improving the quality of life of the . Conclusion: Physical training is effective in rehabilitation of patients with COPD, acting in improving peripheral muscle strength, decreased dyspnea and muscle fatigue, increased exercise tolerance, improvement in functional capacity and quality of life of these individuals.
