Summary:On the base of hydrodynamics linear relations the new analytical solution of the initial-boundary value problem of mechanical interaction of rigid long cylinder and non-stationary symmetrical pressure wave is given. As distinct from the known approaches the finite integral transformations method is used. The diffraction of the symmetrical plain wave on the round cylinder is studied in detail.
