Summary:This paper is the product of an academic project in the research line in organizational structures in the Human Resources Management postgrad program at the Konrad Lorenz, Fundación Universitaria. The objective of the project is to design a competency based management model for an operative process in a manufacturing company in Bogotá. First, the organizational competencies are defined; then, a dictionary of competencies is built for the company. Simultaneously an occupational analysis to update of manuals of functions is performed and the position profiles adjusted by the competency of the different organizational roles part of this operational process. Finally, the competencies based selection and performance evaluation processes are designed, along with the methodology for the identification of competency gaps and competency based training.
