This study aims to describe the way out of your comfort zone by Suar, a character in the novel Catatan Juang by Fiersa Besari which is a representation of real life. Focus of the study is emphasized on the character of Suar when she finally decides to get out of the comfort zone that shackles of her. To study the character Suar in the novel Catatan Juang, this study used a qualitative descriptive method. This qualitative descriptive method is used with the intention of producing a description in the form of words through observed research with content analysis techniques. This is same with the theory of Bogdan and Taylor who argues that qualitative research a produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior. The result of research can be concluded that Suar managed to get away from all the routines that she had been complaining about in order to achieve her dream of becoming a film maker. Her struggle ia not easy, but she kept trying hard and finally proved that stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t a bad thing. This is inseparable from the encouragement and influence of motivational words in a book that she accidentally found on public transportion, with title “Catatan Juang” owned by Juang Astrajingga.
