Materials and methods. Analysis of publicly available sources, including electronic ones, regarding the procurement system in the US DoD and leading NATO countries. Main results. Conclusion. The USA has the most extensive and functional system of military procurements, including legal and regulatory framework. The paper shows that consolidated guidance from the Department of Defense throughout the entire life cycle of a military item is truly valuable and important. The US experience proves the materiel procurements to be the most costly because operation of materiel implies consumption of fuel and lubricants, as well as regular maintenance, and also requires developed infrastructure for aircraft and ships.http://transactions-ksrc.ru/eng/archive/Organization-of-materiel-procurements-in-the-US-Department-of-Defense-and-leading-NATO-countries/system of military procurementsfunding of acquisitionsregulatory and legal basis |
