Summary: | The paper considers the necessity of developing a new approach to achieving coordinated interactions between economic agents in the framework of the transport and logistics system (TLS) of a smart city; the following reasons being stressed: first, in the context of digitalization in logistics, the current approaches do not fully meet the present and future needs of evolutionary development; secondly, the current theoretical foundations of coordination do not allow to radically change its key indicators and ensure higher rates of economic growth, as well as an improvement in the quality of human life; thirdly, the current trend in the formation of TLS does not allow us to propose a more balanced vector of its development to provide adaptive coordination with the norms and rules of interaction of economic agents now. In spite of a great variety of research approaches, there is a need to propose a new approach to achieve adaptive coordination of flow processes within the framework of evolutionary-institutional economic theory leading to a higher level of interaction and economic growth
