| Summary: | The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the site, its importance, and its conservation strategy. This research uses the descriptive method with inductive reasoning — implementation by describing the objects and events that accompany. Data collection is done by observation and is accompanied by interviews. Archaeological data is also collected through literature and historical data. Because what is wanted to be revealed is the role and importance of the site, the analysis is carried out on indicators that can show this, namely the form, time, function, context, and spatial. The results show that the Patihmuhur site was the port of Muarabahan during the Negaradaha kingdom. This site also has an essential role in trading activities involving the surrounding community and foreign nations (India and China). The role of this site has proven that Indonesia has become a part of world trade activities. Because of such high importance, this site needs to be preserved. |
