Summary: | The saline lakes of Pantanal floodplain of Nhecolândia: a study of the landscape based on the GTP model: geo-system, territory and landscape - The present study aimed to achieve the analysis of Pantanal floodplain of Nhecolândia landscape understanding above all, the process of the formation and evaluation of the lacustrine system named “saline lakes”, under the perspective of the GTP model: a proposal of methodological theoretical organization lined on a conceptual geographical triad which facilitates the correlation among the physical-natural (Geo-system – G), socio-economical (Territory – T) and cultural (Landscape – P). They were proceeded: the selection of a salinity lake in the region; the collect and analysis physical-chemistry of the soil in the lake, topographical survey, collect and analysis phyto-sociological of the vegetation of the “Cordilheira”, multitemporal analysis of the satellite images; data survey of the territorial region, and, semi-driven interviews with “pantaneiros”. It is highlighted that the different features of the plant cover allied to the distinction of the organization “pedomorphological” and the internal topographical characteristics, as well as the evidence of plant cover discontinuities (cordilheira), and the use of this environment back to the extensive cattle, all together contributed to the entrance of acid water in the area through straight links with coalescent system depriving of characteristics a lacustrine system which we believed to be an alkaline environment in ancient times. This could generate consequences in all units of Pantanal floodplain of Nhecolandia which in spite of being distinct are very close and connected.
