Description
Summary:The article regards rapidly growing companies as a tool for the analysis of micro-economic development. The objective of the paper is to identify ways to apply information about fast-growing companies in the management of economic processes, to prove that the study of growing companies has become a new tool and method of microeconomic analysis and a way to identify economically active regions, industries and sub-industries. The article analyzes the existing approaches to the definition of high-growth companies, notes the spheres of application, advantages and disadvantages of these approaches. It is concluded that the applicability of the “soft” selection criteria of fast-growing companies is to identifying centers of economic growth, while the “hard” criteria allow to study the most successful companies and to identify strategies for success. The use of “hard” criterion makes the analysis of fast-growing companies a valuable tool for the study of entrepreneurship. Fast-growing companies, selected according to this criterion, are empirical approximation of the theoretical concepts of entrepreneurial firms.
