After seven years of institutional criminality in Argentina and twenty of para-institutional genocide in Colombia both countries faced trials which sought to clarify the truth, offering justice and repair. The comparison between these two experiences transmits to us not just the particularity of its historic course but also essentially that violence has played a main part in the process of modernization and therefore over all the success and failure of the posttraumatic processes initiated in both scenarios.
