With a bipartite cyclical structure, String Quartet No.3 fits perfectly into the category of demonstrating opuses for removing from the foreground of the classical quadrature specific to the quartet genre and replacing its importance with various other means of high artistic thinking and conceptualization of music. Thus, focusing on a modal language, the author also avoids the usual patterns for the inner forms of the parts of a quartet.
